After her birth in Connecticut, Madeline Zima's childhood took her to Pennsylvania and then to New York, where a talent agent felt she had a career in commercials and modeling. Her big break came when she was cast in the 1992 Rebecca De Mornay thriller The Hand the Rocks the Cradle. The film's success was a launching pad for young Madeline and after a role in Mr. Nanny and a guest spot on Law & Order, she was cast as the youngest of three siblings in 1993's hit TV series The Nanny. Madeline moved to L.A. for the Fran Drescher series, which would see her through six years of entertainment experience and even greater opportunities.

When The Nanny ended in 1999, Madeline switched her attention to TV movies, with roles in Lethal Vows opposite John Ritter and in 2000's The Sandy Bottom Orchestra, which had Madeline playing a classical violinist. Madeline spent the next seven years jumping between TV guest spots and feature films, showing up in everything from Gilmore Girls to A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff. By 2007, Madeline had blossomed into a beautiful woman and she put it to good use by landing a sexy role in Californication as an admirer of David Duchovny's writer character. Alison Gertrude Larter was born February 28, 1976, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She and her sister Kristen both enjoyed a stable upbringing, and there was little to distinguish the young Ali from other children her age beyond her remarkable beauty.

The 'He's Just Not That Into You' actress can?t understand why boys still have them, adding the concept of male nipples completely baffles her.

She is quoted by the Chicago Sun Times newspaper as saying: "The one thingI don't understand about men is nipples. I don't know if there is one aspect of men that I don't understand other than why they have nipples. Honestly, why? I guess it has something to do with the X chromosome.

"What is the function of the male nipple? Maybe we all start as androgynous creatures and then they become men?"

Despite admitting she is confused by some aspects of the male anatomy, the 24-year-old actress' bewilderment is not strong enough to turn her off men completely.

She recently revealed she is still crazy for her husband Ryan Reynolds - who she married in a secret ceremony last September - adding she is "in love with love".

When asked about the impact marriage has on relationships, Scarlett replied: "I have no perspective on that - you should ask me in 25 years.

"I am really in love with love. I'm a lover not a fighter. I'm a real lover."
